FROM THE PASTOR
What a joy it is to be the pastor of Newtown United Methodist Church. While this congregation has a rich history dating back to 1840 its vibrancy is rooted in faith, outreach and creativity.
Within the last three years the congregation has stepped out in faith to reach out to Katrina victims, people in need in Appalachia, to feed the hungry in our own area and in support of the Bucks County Homeless Shelter. Our outreach question always seems to be how will we do it rather than if we can do it.
Our faith has also shown itself in creativity. Our Sunday school has developed a model of the Workshop Rotation Program, carried out with flair and enthusiasm. Several of our Sunday school rooms display high quality religious murals done by our members. Our adult choir, led by Wilann Spicia shares God’s love through a wide variety of anthems. It’s not every church that is fortunate enough to have what we like to call our “composer in residence”. Ron McVey, our organist has written and continues to write hymns, responses and anthems, adding both the life and depth of locally created art to our worship.
So, I invite you to come and share my joy in this church and, perhaps choose Newtown United Methodist Church As the community where you live your faith.
Grace and Peace!
David Cramp, pastor
