2010 Fall Trip to:
“Inn at the Beeches”
Rome, New York
October 15 16 17
“Come join us for another great Trip”
The Inn at the Beeches is a quiet 52 acre country estate with ponds and walking paths. Built in 1954, the historic Beeches has been family owned and operated since opening. We will be traveling in the Adirondack Mountains and hopefully see beautiful fall foliage
Day One
This morning we will leave at 7:30 AM and journey to Rome, New York and visit Fort Stanwix. We will learn how the American victory at this frontier fort directly contributed to the British defeat at Saratoga in 1777, setting the stage for westward expansion through New York. Later this afternoon we will check into the Inn for the next two nights. A delicious dinner will be enjoyed at the Savoy Restaurant. (D)
Day Two
After breakfast at the Inn this morning we will climb aboard the Adirondack Scenic Railroad for a wilderness train ride and then lunch at the Buffalo Head Restaurant a local dining tradition for more than forty years. After lunch free time will be enjoyed along Old Forges Main Street where you will find a unique collection of specialty shops including the ever popular Old Forge hardware. Next we will take a narrated sightseeing cruise along the beautiful Fulton Chain of Lakes nestled in the heart of the spectacular Central Adirondack Mountains. Dinner will be enjoyed at Van Aukin’s Inn this evening. (B.L.D.)
Day Three
This morning after breakfast at the Inn we will check out and depart. We will travel to Cooperstown, New York and visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It is the largest repository of baseball information in the world and home to the greatest players ever to wear a uniform. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Otesaga Resort Hotel before beginning our journey home. (B.L.)
The package includes deluxe motor coach transportation, two nights lodging at the Inn with baggage handling, two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, and all admissions and taxes.(Not included are one lunch on day I, dinner on the way home and our “thank you” to the driver.)
