WELCOME

We invite you to visit and worship at Newtown United Methodist Church. The church is located at Liberty and Greene Streets, one block from Washington Avenue and State Street (just behind the Brick Hotel). Come to worship, to learn, to be a part of a vibrant and caring community of faith whose goals are to grow in discipleship and to reach out in mission.

FROM THE PASTOR

In my five years as the pastor of Newtown United Methodist Church I have discovered this church as an exciting place to be. Our worship style is creatively traditional, our fellowship is warm and caring, and our desire to grow in faith is intense. All of this fuels our enthusiasm to reach beyond our walls to help others in mission.

Newtown U.M.C. is a mid-size congregation which sees its size as a distinct advantage. We are large enough to support a wide array of ministries and programs while small enough to easily develop and sustain bonds with one another.

As important as the church’s long history in the community – since 1840, is the congregation’s history of creativity and ability to work together when addressing the myriad of challenges facing those who serve Christ in our culture.

So, I invite you to come and see and perhaps choose Newtown United Methodist Church as the community in which you live out your faith.

                                                                        Grace and Peace!
