June 2010 - Area Food Banks
Members are asked to bring non-perishable items and place them in the shopping cart.  The food will be delivered to area food banks.

June 2010 - Area Food Banks
Members are asked to bring non-perishable items and place them in the shopping cart.  The food will be delivered to area food banks.

· Adopt-A-Family:    
  Local, low-income families in need are helped during the Christmas season with gifts
and food.

· Aid for Friends:
  AFF is a non-profit inter-faith organization that provides free home-cooked meals and
  friendly visiting to the needy, disabled and elderly home bound. Foil containers are
  provided to fill, freeze and return to the church freezers. The Newtown United Methodist
  Women (UMW) Cooking Circle prepares meals the third Wednesday of every month.

· American Red Cross Homeless Shelter:
  The Lower Bucks County chapter has the county’s only 24-hour homeless shelter that
  serves over 300 adults and children each year. The congregation of NUMC offers support
  by preparing and serving Saturday morning breakfasts.

· Angel Tree:
Each Christmas, an Angel Gift Tree is set up in the church. Members
purchase a gift for a child. These gifts are donated to the United Methodist Services for Families and Children located in Philadelphia. Its mission is to support families and children as they strive for self sufficiency.
 
· Easter Baskets:
Every Easter, members fill Easter Baskets, which are then donated to the United Methodist Services for Families and Children

· ConKerr Cancer:

A non-profit organization dedicated to improving the life of children while they are hospitalized due to cancer. Bright and cheerful pillowcases are sewn and delivered to area pediatric hospitals and then given to hospitalized children. Material for the pillowcases and directions are available in the Gallery. · Camp Innabah:

Camp Innabah is a United Methodist camp located near Pottstown, PA. This year-round camp serves as a spiritual oasis for children, youth and adults in the Eastern PA area. In the spring of 2007, NUMC built “Grace” cabin for Camp Innabah.
