Newtown United Methodist Men  meets for breakfast once each quarter. A speaker or other presentation is enjoyed immediately following breakfast. During the fall we sponser a "pig roast" for our congregation as well as the congergation of the St. Marks AME Zion church.  Each year the UMM select a major mission project such as the building of a cabin at Camp Innabah and work together to raise funds to accomplish our mission goal. Click on the link below to see us in action building the cabin dubbed "Grace"at the camp.

Emergency Response Teams

Early Response Teams (ERTs) are the folks who go in right after the emergency phase of a disaster to muck out homes, tarp roofs, remove wet drywall and insulation and cut up downed trees to make homes safe, sanitary and secure. No repairs are performed by these teams. They often need to be totally self-sufficient, taking care of their own meals and transportation into and out of the affected area. Training is mandatory in order to participate on one of these teams and reasonably good health is required. The Conference  goal is to eventually be able to deploy ERTs from each of the six districts in our conference, each with their own, fully equipped trailer. Newtown United Methodist Church recently hosted ERT training for 30 people and is in the process of raising funds and collecting tools for an ERT  trailer that will be based here in Newtown. If you are interested in ERT training or volunteering to help with the equipment trailer please call the church office.

 8th Annual Pig Roast

Was enjoyed by many on Sunday, October 9th. The weather co-operated superbly so we were able to have all festivities outside. Good food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
