OUR PURPOSE

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

The Unit is a vital and important part of Newtown United Methodist church family. Monthly activities include meetings with spiritual and mission focused topics; Circle meetings which focus on the development of mission information and fellowship among the members; and fund raisers including an annual bazaar and two rummage sales which financially support the Mission Pledge to the East District and the EPA Conference.these agencies support the work of missions throughout the world to which the United Methodist Church is vitally linked. Women prepare Aid for Friends meals on a monthly basis; making approximately 5000 meals annually as a supportive community activity. A church-wide Christmas Dinner/program launches the Advent/ Christmas season for the congregation.

Anyone who is interested in supporting the Mission work of the Church is invited to join this improtant organization and link with women in Christian service.
